We have multiple Compaq/HP servers running Windows2000
(english) with service pack4. We also
have all the latest critical update´s.
The problem we have on some of the servers(3-4 servers),
is the we can´t explore the "EventViewer".
You can se that there is alot of logs in the eventviewern
(because of the size of the eventviewern + that you can
se how many logs theire is), but you can´t enter the
logs.

I have also tried to pick up the logs from an remote
pc,,but no luck.

Please Help,
Jonas Edholm

The temporary fix;
You might try changing the file properties to "Overwrite as needed"

Then; Control Panel|Administrative Tools|Services|Event Log Service|General,
set the "Startup Type:" to "Disabled" restart the pc, then delete (or move)
the corrupt *.evt file(s) from %windir%\system32\config then set the Event
Log Service "Startup Type:" back to "Automatic", restart for effect.

The more permanent fix;
