We have approximately 12 computers on our house network
right now, and for some reason, my computer is unable to
find any of them, even when I try to search for the
computer name itself. I can access the internet just
fine, and my computer shows up for them, but they are
unable to access it either. I've joined several
different workgroups that some of the computers are in,
but even when in the correct group, finding workgroup
computers comes up dry. I'm running Win XP Pro, and any
advice would be appreciated.

Hi.

I have had same problem with 3 XP Pro's. I solved my
problem with installing the Netprotocol "IPX/SPX/NetBIOS-
compatible...) in network configuration.
I had to copy files from one computer to another and this
would only work with that protocol installed.

See if the computers that can see you have this protocol
installed - and of course, please make sure you are
running the same workgroup (all though it is a must).

dont want to insult anyone, but the firewall I had up on the network stopped
the internal IP addressed. I had to recognise the IP address before I could
get anything to work.
