Unable to view .cgi files

Recently certain images from the internet with a .cgi
suffix are only showing up as small red x's. I used to be
able to pull these up, but no more. Anyone know how I
can fix this problem?
I posted this question earlier and someone said that .cgi
files were not images, they are scripts, but gave no
further help. Just knowing that doesn't really help me
fix the problem. Is there anyone who could suggest a
solution?
Thanks.

Can you provide a link to a site where
..cgi image files can be downloaded?

I've never seen a .cgi image file...the
following site lists all common graphics
formats and .cgi is not included.
http://www.dcs.ed.ac.uk/home/mxr/gfx/2d-hi.html

It might be a good idea to run a full
system virus scan using the most
recent definitions.

A search turns up the following info:

CGI = Common Gateway Interface script (WWW)
CGI = Common Gateway Interface script file
CGI = Mime: magnus-internal/cgi

CGI: Common Gateway Interface:

CGI is a rather common type of graphic interface. A script is actually
resonsible for generating the display from one or more files. One or
more of those files is no longer available, at least where the script is
looking.
