Whenever I try to view JPG's or JPEG's I get the following response:-

Unable to display file.

The JPG file could not be decoded.
C:\NEWSROVER\!!!SP4.JPEG
OK

The fault cannot be that the file is too old because it was posted in
October, *and* other JPG's/JPEG's are being displayed, namely spam
containing JPEGs of unbelieveably fat women. Do I have to make adjustments
to get the
JPG's or JPEGS I wish to view?

I was given a suggestion in another newsgroup to remove the "!" but as it is
in the warning, I cannot change this.

Your help would be appreciated, David.

Is that the name of the JPG file? !!!SP4.JPEG

What application is used to open JPEG files on your system?

Yes, that is the name of the file. What the application is used to open it,
I have no idea. However, I have found that another set of very nice
pictures, 1600flowers_3018.jpg does come up easily. David.

What are you trying to view them in?
If these are attachments to spam I'd just delete them and not open them -
they may not be images at all (and the fact you're having difficulty opening
them might suggest this. They may be malicious, and 'renamed' as a jpg to
put your suspicion off ) - they could be trojans or anything. Scan them
with your AV program first.
