I am unable to use any search engines or even go to
google.com.I get an error message saying page cannot be
displayed.I am guessing something is wrong in my registry
but don't know what to check for.Any help would be greatly
appreciated!!

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

.Thanks for the reply.I've been running adaware and
spybot for quite some time now and seem to stay pretty
clean.Reaaly thinking something was deleted in my
registry.Thanks again though!

might look in your HOSTS file too .... some search portal filled mine up
with their ip routing all the standard search engines to them.

As bumtracks said, check your HOSTS file.

Also,
Go to http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ , and download Hijack This.

Unzip, double-click HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save
Log" button.
Press that, and save the log somewhere.

NOTE: Most of what Hijack This lists will be harmless, or even required, so
do NOT fix anything
yet.

Next, go to http://forums.spywareinfo.com

Sign in, go to the Browser Hijacking/Spyware Removal section, press "new
topic", explain your
problem, and copy and
paste the contents of the Hijack This log into your new message. You'll get
expert assistance in
dealing with your problem, and I can assure you that you'll be rid of it in
no time at all.
