After having some problems yesterday with various error messages
including low system resources and several apps throwing up error
messages and closing, I am unable to use IE6 to view ANY urls. I
am obviously online (dialup) and have no problems with OE email or
newsgroups. I have done maintenance such as scandisk and defrag,
deleted cookies, temp internet files and cleared history. I ran
Spybot and got nothing. I ran AVG and nothing showed up. I ran
repair on IE but that did not help. I can't get to any web sites,
so if someone could tell me what to do instead of listing links I
would appreciate it.

Dell Dimension L733
WinME with all updates
80 g hard drive,
192 mb ram (1@64, 1@128)
Nvidia Geforce 4 MX440 64mb, with latest drivers
IE 6.0.2800.1106

Thanks,
Janice

Well after I sent previous message I went back and ran Ad-Aware
which found 9 critical items all relating to Alexa. I cleared
them all and voila! back on line. Wonder why Spybot didn't find
this? Should be up to date. Oh well, live and learn.

Both SpyBot and Ad-Aware were up to date the day before. I
couldn't update yesterday because I couldn't use IE.
Thanks for the reply.

message | No one anti-spyware program catches everything. Plus, any of
them need to
| be updated before running.
