I run a Pentium 4 2.4Ghz computer with 512ddram, and a
60GB hard drive. I am running windows 98 SE, and am
attempting to upgrade to windows 2000 prof. During
installation, it stops very early and waits for awhile,
eventually showing me an error message claiming that my
computer does not have enough memory to install it. All
the unecessary programs are closed and I am not sure why i
get this message. Do i really not have enough memory?
Thanks in advance. Paul

You have more than enough memory. However I would
recommend that you format the partition and do a clean
install of W2K rather that the update. Just reboot you
system with the 2K cd in the cd rom. When asked to boot
from the cd rom press any key. When u get to the point
where windows displays your available partitions to
install windows, delete all partions showing. You will be
warned that proceeding will delete all current data. Once
completed select Create a new partions. Once this is
done. select the new partitions to install W2K. I
recommed this because it is very likey that alot of the
system files with your current 98 install are corrupt.
You want a CLEAN slate to make sure the OS's is running
optimally

Hope this helps
