Unable to update website following changing computer

After changing laptop, at the first update, all the pages on the local
website had an arrow signalling that an update was needed, even if only one
page had been changed. I clicked Publish website, local to remote, and the
update went on. All the pages were charged and the log said nothing
special. BUT when I checked the remote website, the modification that had
been done on the only page modified had not been uploaded. I relaunched
(several times) an update but the modification, although it appears on my
local website, does not appear online, even if I reload the page. Help
welcome.

Double check your remote Web site location.

The location is correct because I can see my remote website in the remote
website window.

What is strange is that all the pages on the remote website window have the
status: unmatched.

I just updated with my old conmputer and it worked very well so the bug is
really related to my new one. But this is only a temporary fix. I must
find a way of updating with the new one.

Thank you for the link.

I followed thoroughly the instructions. On step 9 there was no FP temp
files to delete, on step 10 no hidden *.web files either nor cmdui.prf file
from step 10. I retried publishing and it did not work again. All my local
paged turned from Unchanged to Unmatched and the arrows appeared.

I could not perform step 13 as stated, because I could not find a Publish
tab in Tools Options but instead I tried publishing only one page using left
click and it failed. For a second I saw Conflict appear and a question mark
but they soon disappeared and now it is Unchanged again.

What happened the first times I tried publishing with this new computer is
that the system asked me a question about using a port (I forgot which one -
perhaps 80 but I am not sure?) and, not knowing, I stupidly replied yes.
Afterwards, I went to see in the help this question of port and read:
But I have always published by using remote website view and I have no idea
how to use ftp

Does your host provide the FrontPage Server Extensions?

If so, the remote location should be an HTTP address, such as
http://www.example.com/ or http://www.example.com/mysite.

If not, the remote location should be an FTP address such as
http://ftp.example.com/public_html
where the folder name public_html, if required at all, will vary from host
to host.

You would specify Passive FTP if there's a firewall of some kind between you
and the remote host, and if the remote host supports Passive FTP.

If you still have your old computer running, it would probably pay to look
at the remote site properties that are (were) working there, and duplicate
them.

Does your host provide the FrontPage Server Extensions? <<
Yes, it does. It is myhosting.com.

I thought about a firewall problem, as in my old computer I use Trend Micro
but the new one came with Norton pre-installed. I disabled Norton's
firewall and tried to publish but same bug: each time I try to publish, all
my pages in my local website turn from unchanged to unmatched and an arrow
appears, as if they had all been changed. I did not try disabling Windows
XP firewall because it does not prevent me to upload on my old laptop.

The remote website properties are _exactly_ the same as the ones in the old
computer where it works very well.

Somehow, none of this is ringing a bell. That prompt about the port number
bothers me, though.

Publishing still works on the old computer, right? With the same
username/password?

Yes, it does, fortunately. Username and password are correct in my new
computer because I can see my remote website but I can not modify it.

Yes, this port prompt bothers me too but the problem is that I don't know
anything about ports. I am going to ask myhosting.com about it.

myhosting.com does not want to help.
