My PC info is:
hp pavilion 742c
Model # 742c
Product # P8627A-ABA
Serial# MX223A0376
Software Build# 23NAheWEM5
Hardware BOM# 101
Software BOM# NA70
Service ID# 082-502
The problem is (I think with Internet Expolorer, or my
system, not sure)
What happens is when I try to edit or up date my web
site:
http://dextorrbullmastiffs.dogbreedersdirectory.com/index.
html
I get page error messages.
An Internet Explorer Box will appear, inside the box
says: problems with this web page might prevent it from
being displayed properly or functioning properly. In the
future you can display this message by double clicking
the warning icon (an exclaimation point within a yellow
triangle symbol)
in status bar.
Details read: Line: 15
Char: 50
Error: Syntax Error
Code: o
URL:
http://dextorrbullmastiffs.dogbreedersdirectory.com/cgi-
bin/util/sitebuilder/command
If I ignore the error message by clicking "ok" and
attempt to update anyway the same error message box
appears (says exactly the same as above)
but Details read: Line: 12
Char: 1
Error: object expected
URL: (is the same)
Most web sites I visit work properly without getting this
error message, the only other one that it has happened
with is the AKC web site. The same Internet Explorer
Error message box will appear saying same as above.
Details read: Line:2
Char: 9
Error: Invalid Character
URL: http://www.akc.org
I tried contacting the web hosting IT serv. with no help.
They did suggest if I had any pop up ad blocking software
may be causing the problem.
I had removed the ad blocking software (spy bot) several
weeks previous to this problem.
I also had problems with pop up ads that appeared when I
wasn't on the internet, such as using "Word" or "Outlook
Express".
I found a remedy that I used & it worked, but may have
caused this problem..don't know, here's what I did:
Click "start" then "run" and type in: services.msc
then click "ok", scroll to "messanger" select it and
choose "properties" under "start up" choose "disable"
then click "stop" then click "apply" and click "ok"
This stopped the pop up ads from appearing...could that
have caused the problem. I went back to
enable "messenger" to ad my web hosting site to
the "allow" list (as they instructed) but "messenger" no
longer appeared in the list..it was gone. I don't know
how to get it back or if that is even the root of the
problem.???
I also recieved an email just a few days ago from a
friend who said she had passed a virus on (I have
Norton's Internet Security & Norton's System Works 2002)
which didn't pick up any viruses. but she said to do this:
go to "start" click "find" or "search" option
then type: jdbgmgr.exe , be sure to search your C drive:
and all subfolders and any ohter drives you may have.
Click "find now"
The virus has a teddy bear icon with the name:
jdbgmgr.exe. Don't open it. Go to "edit" and
choose "select all" then go to "file" and select "delete"
the go to "recycle bin" and empty.
Which I did do and found two of the teddy bear icon with
teh name jdbgmgr.exe and did as instructed, but have seen
no adverse effects prior or post deletion of said virus.
That's about all the information that I know to supply,
if there is anything you need to know that I haven't
included please let me know. My name is Suzan Dexter & my
email is: (e-mail address removed)
I desperately need help in order to update my web
site!!!! Thank you sooooo much in advance!
Sincerely,
Suzan J. Dexter
