Recently installed XP on a dual boot computer.

Basic setup is a XP 8meg C: drive which contains the
master boot files and nothing else.
On a second disk is a 17gig D: drive with all Windows
files including OS.

When applying the XP security patch, it won't let me
because of insufficient space on C: A friend says he
thinks there is a setting somewhere in Windows where I
can get the patches to load on D: drive. Anyone know
where that is?

Thanks in advance

You need to read the article in the KB on dual or
multiple boot systems. One of which is #217210, there is
quite a bit of data. Basically you have to have each OS
on its own partition. All windows OS's don't really care
which partition they get installed on other than W98 has
to be installed before any of the others. I have a 5 boot
system, DOS,W98,W2k,W2kSrver and WXP. In that order.
Which will update as needed in the OS I'm currently
running. It sounds like you will need to repartition your
drive or use something like Partition magic to increase
the size of your C partition. But definately find the
article on dual booting OS's.
