I went to
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/preview.mspx

and wanted to get the beta. I had problems yesterday with there being TOO
MANY people on. The site told me to try again later. I AM!

I get this when I try to download it. I have ONE beta key, but I did not
get any of the others. I am frustrated that I can't try it

Thank you for participating in the Microsoft Windows Vista Customer Preview

Who do I talk with to try to reset my account information or whatever I need
to do to get it?

Try clicking on the link in the email you received from MSFT (the one with
the product key)

THank you for this Mark. Silly me! I should ALWAYS check my e-mail! :)

I did try this though, THANK YOU! :) I got the SAME error message! (not
mad at you!)

Thank you for your interest in Windows Vista Beta 2.

Please check back later for availability. We apologize for any inconvenience.

I tried to download from file

http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Microsoft_Windows_Vista_English_32bit/1149728719/1

I clicked on the x32 and download button:

It takes me to
http://download.windowsvista.com/dl...inmain_beta2_x86fre_client-LB2CFRE_EN_DVD.iso

On the page I get:
Access denied.

Please go to http://www.windowsvista.com/getready/preview

The Link you posted for BetaNews.com is working for me so far... I got a new
download started... I'l tell you in a couple of hours if it brings me a good
ISO copy... My last download gives me the 'Windows Image File cannot be
found' error...

Here's an interesting twist. I got NOwhere by trying to use either IE7
or Firefox for the Beta-2 download. A friend told me to try Opera.
Using the latest version of Opera, I pasted the link from the email MS
sent me with the product key. Lo and behold, I was taken to a DIFFERENT
MS page, which others on this forum have described, but I'd certainly
never seen it with Firefox or IE7. It had links for downloading either
x86 or x64 via Akami Download Manager and corresponding links for
downloading with "your own download manager." Since Opera has a
built-in DM, I clicked the link to download the 32-bit version with my
own DM, and it started downloading immediately at 360KBs. It hasn't
slowed down yet, and I have 35% of the download completed in less than
50 minutes. I don't know how far it will continue, but after about 200
fruitless tries to get the download started with IE and Firefox and then
getting it on the FIRST TRY with Opera, I'd say there's something
strange going on here. Toto, I don't think we're in Redmond any more.

Conclusion: if you're frustrated with the download, give Opera a try.
It certainly can't hurt anything.

Thanks. I've now tried - IE6, Firefox, Getright, the Vista suggested
download manager and now Opera.

I get the same problem on all of them - a 13.7Mb file.

Each time it just confirms more that the MS servers are screwed - for most
of us trying the x64 bin anyway ;)

Sorry about that. Opera downloaded the entire ISO for me in less than two
hours and never paused once. I cannot understand why everyone's experience
is so different.
