Unable to startup in safe mode because of memory dump

Last Night I was using my scanner when I noticed
everything lock up to the point where a ctrl-alt-del did
not even work. I then powered down the PC and have not
been able to start it back up since. I get the message
that the Windows shut down to protect the computer from
damage. I then get the error:
Stop: 0x00000051 (0x00000003, 0x00000003, 0x00000000
0xE1574000)
Beginning dump of Physical memory

This happens no matter what mode I choose for startup. (I
tried them all)
Can any one help me with this?
I am using a Dell Dimension 2350 that is only 1 year old
and came with XP loaded.
