Hi,
I have a W2K member server on which I need to install Remote Access (RRAS)
for dial-in users.

I have configured the RRAS with 2 static IP addresses however at the point
of completing the RRAS configuration, the Remote Access fails with an Event
ID 20153 and "The currently configured accounting provider failed to load
and initialize successfully. The authentication server did not respond to
authentication requests in a timely fashion." followed by a Service Control
Manager Event ID 7024 with "The Routing and Remote Access service terminated
with service-specific error 930" error.

The RRAS service remains inactive and the Ports are not listed which should
include a Netcomm Wave V.92 modem (for dial-in access). The modem is listed
in the Ports Configuration details but not listed in the available Ports.

Ive repeatedly disabled and reconfigured RAS however always with the same
result.
I have tried both the "Remote Access" wizard and the "Manual Config" wizard
but with no success.
The operating system is Win2K standard and SP3 - I cannot install SP4 at
this stage due to other legacy application dependencies.

In addition, since the RAS was originally configured, the company's service
provider installed Citrix. Any idea whether Citrix changes the RAS registry
settings rendering it disabled?

Hope someone can assist and thanks in advance

Can you ensure the connectivity between RAS and your RADIUS server? Is the
shared secret correct on both ends?

A Radius server is not being used - there is no IAS involved. Authentication
is Windows Authentication.

Thanks for responding Sandeep - any other ideas what might cause the RAS
service not to be enabled?

Hi Sandeep
I was able to reproduce the problem on another server - the problem is
related to the Citrix drive re-mapping. The drives were mapped from C:, D
and E to M, N and O.
The cause has been identified - now I need to find a resolution to it
working using the re-mapped drives, as the server is in production - I
cannot change the mapping back to the original drive mapping. Any ideas?
Thanks and regards
Trevor
