"Windows XP could not start because the following file is
missing or corrupt:|windows\system32\config\system"

Unable to repair--cannot get to "repair screen" (the
second "r") in Window Setup. Instaed get data on
partitions, and options to ENTER to continue Windows
Setup or create/delete partitions. If ENTER, get "You
chose to install Windows XP on aprtition that contains
another operating system....CAUTION: Installing multiple
operting systems on a single partition is not
recommended...." I opted out via ESC.

Next tried using Microsoft 307545 with the Reinstall CD.
In Part 1, trying to enter second set of instructions
received "The volume in drive c has no label". Now what?
Is this an error on my part, something I can fix and
continue with 307545, or is it a fatal flaw?

Hi there,

To continue with your Microsoft 307545 Reinstallation
first you have to provide label name that is anyname to
your drive c:.
For this probly there are 2 options. You can follow any of
the following:-

1) Goto MSdos (Command Prompt) and type "Label C:" and
press enter
You will be prompted for "Enter 11 characters volume
name "
Type any name there i.e even your fisrt name and press
enter.
and then type "Exit" on the command prompt.
After you are back you can continue with your Microsoft
307545 Installation.

2)Open Windows Explorer,Right Click on C: drive icon and
goto properties and Type the name in the text provided
next to label tag.
After typing press Apply and Ok and the you can continue
with the Installation.

Bye and Best of Luck.
