Unable to share folder

I am running Windows XP Prof on a laptop and am connected to other computers
on a network. I am unable to share any of my folders, with the exception of
my "c drive" root folder - which I do not want to do.

When I rightclick a folder and select either "Sharing and Security" or
"Properties" absolutely nothing happens! Can someone please tell me what I
need to do to fix this problem. I do not have a password setup on my laptop
and my profile says I am an administrator.

Hi:

Just to ID the problem, have you installed SP2 recently?

Some people reported SP2 might affect showing folder properties, and if this
is your case, you would need to disable IIS Admin service (Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, Services) and reboot and re-enable it (along with
other services need IIS).

For the sharing of C drive - it's default setting and should not be changed.

Also do set up a password for administrator account (and depending on your
preferences, set the password to be expired or not within certain period).
Without password, anyone can easily access your computer either from local
or a remote location.
