I am trying to set up a BCM Database which is shared accross a local network.
There are just two computers set up, connected together by a switch and are
on the same Workgroup. I goto share the database and when I create a new
user who can access the database it creates it as being on the local Computer
(named Cowboy) and displays it as Cowboy\Larry. When I try to access this
database from the other computer (named Larry) it doesn't let the user
(Larry) access it saying he does not have remote privales to Cowboy. How do
I set it up so that Larry can access the database on Cowboy?

I added Larry to the Remote users Group on Cowboy and similarly the
administrators group but still recieved the error. Any ideas as to why he
doesnt have remote access?

Does Larry have the same passwd on both machines? The id and passwd
must be exactly the same for NT to authenticate users in workgroup LANs.

yes the passwords are the same and also yes the update is installed on both
computers, still no luck however. Forgot to mention there is no domain they
are on a workgroup

The Larry on Cowboy\Larry is not the same as the Larry on the other PC. As
far as Windows Permissions is concerned, they are two different people. I
believe you should add a user with the name of the PC he will be logging in
from - So if the other computer is named Indian, you would add a user to the
shared BCM database on Cowboy and it will be Indian\Larry. Grant him full
rights. See if that works for you.
