Hello,

I have just purchased a new base unit and a copy of XP home which I have
installed but not yet activated (only 3 days), I have tried to setup
some scheduled tasks but keep getting unable to complete after I enter
the username and password, could this be because it is not yet activated?

Thanks

Gerald,

What's the exact error message? Note that Scheduled Tasks won't run if the
user account has a blank password.

Thanks for reply,

The message is as follows:-

The new task has been created, but may not run because the account
information could not be set.

The specific error is:

0x80070005 access is denied

Try using the task page browse button to locate the application.

What I did notice is that the day before yesterday when I turn the
machine on and Windows starts it goes to a page with my name on it and
says Click username to start, it didn,t do that at first, also the wife
has had XP on her PC since it was purchased and it always started
straight away into the desktop.

Many thanks for your help,

I've managed to get both problems sorted with the .net Framewprk 1.1 SP1
update and by using the TweakUI V2.00 For Windows XP
