My win2K server has been ocassionally rebooting itself,
but I am not here to see what is happening and the event
log just gives me an 'Unexpected Shutdown' message. Today
I got the blue screen with IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Then
the machine wouldn't even come on (no bios even) until I
unplugged everything and plugged it all back in. Then it
came up for only a few minutes and gave me another IRQ
message.
In device manager I find a network card and SCI controller
on the same IRQ. Both say 'No Conflicts' and both have
the 'Use Automatic Settings' and corresponding editability
disabled. I have logged in as systam and network
administrator with the same results. I have uninstalled
and reinstalled the devices numerous times and they always
grab the same IRQ.
Any suggestions? Do you think the phantom reboot may
caused by this conflict or am I looking at some kind of
hardward failure (CPU, memory, board)? ~Patrick
