When in windows explorer in the "View" drop down
under "Choose Details" I am unable to see what details
have been chosen in the dialog box as the check marks are
not visible. Any suggestions as to a fix for this?

Norman, when I look in MyDocuments folder for instance and choose details
the ones that are checked showup. So why
don't you do the same and see what shows up. Those are the ones that are
checked whether they show up as checked in
the dialog box or not. If you want to add more details then check the
ones you want that are not being displayed.

I realize the details that are checked show up, but my
problem is that the
items do not show that they are checked. This problem
exist with any
program that requires check marks for example in the
System Configuration
Utility I cannot tell what programs have been loaded as
no check marks
appear there also.

Norman, did you try a system file check. Go to Start>Run type: sfc
/scannow Have your WinXP CD in the cdrom drive.

Have tried that also. No luck.
