I have a small network setup with 2 xp pro pc's and 1 xp home computer. The
2 pro computers can see each other and share files with no problem.

The xp home pc cannot see the other pc's in network neighborhood, nor access
any shares. The pro computers can see the home pc, but not access any shares.

I am able to ping the other pc's, they are in the same workgroup
I have tried to turn off the firewalls between them.

Any ideas of what to try?

Thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention the 2 pro machines are wired and the home machine is
connecting via wireless, if it matters.

Thanks,

That the xp home pc cannot ping the other ones indications a problem with
icmp packets. Something is blocking these packets.

Solve the ping problem first.

Perhaps your problem with sharing (in addition that not being able to ping
is reason enough) is in the type of authentication the computers are using.

MVP Chuck and MVP Jack have excellent discussions (on their respective
websites) of authentication methods and pitfalls.

Some firewalls don't react properly to being "turned off". The NetBT setting,
if not consistent, could be part of the problem.

You could maybe diagnose the problem, using logs from "browstat status",
"ipconfig /all", "net config server", and "net config workstation", from each
computer. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow instructions
precisely (download browstat!):
