I have Windows Vista Build 5384 installed. I have setup sharing and enabled
the firewall to allow access on my home network. When I open the "Network
File and Printer Sharing" applet it indicates the firewall is setup to allow
browsing the network. All I have is a home network. Unfortunately, Vista
doesn't see any of the other computers on my home network. If I search for
the Vista machine from one of my other computers I can locate it and see the
folders I've shared. Is there some setting I've missed that prevents me from
seeing the other computers on my network from Vista?

Thanks,

JW

Do your "workgroup names" match?

Otherwise try turning all firewalls off then connecting, if that works
work backwards restoring firewalls on each PC till you find the
offending one.

Yes, you were correct. The workgroup names did not match. Unlike XP, Vista
did not ask me what workgroup I wanted to join or be a member of, at least
that I recall. So I forgot about those needing to match up.

Thanks again!
