I am unable to see the gif's such as signout, new, delete, junk etc. I am
on XP/SP2. Any idea why?

Hi,
Maybe you have a firewall that blocks something (see if disabling it for a
minute cures the problem), or a HOSTS file that intercepts too much (rename
it temporarily to see what it gives).
If the problem is just the rendering of the GIF files, installing Irfanview
(www.irfanview.com) might help.

Try the following and see if it helps:
Try clearing the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and
delete offline content.)
Zone Alarm Pro can block Images in IE
1. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Security>Custom level>reset custom
level to Medium or Low
2. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>set the slider to Medium or Low
3. Go to this site and read on adjusting the Privacy settings in ZA. It will
explain how to customize on a per site basis.

Kerio Personal Firewall and any other anti-advertisement software you have
on your system will also do this. Also, programs that are supposed to speed
up your browsing will cause this problem.
