I have an xp computer hooked up to my network. My server
is running on windows nt. Some of my client computers can
see the xp computer others cannot. My xp computer can
see my server and its files and one other client which it
can also access the shared files on that computer. But it
cannot see any other computers on the network. However I
do get a response from the other computers on the network
if I ping their IP address. I can also acces the network
printer with no problem. Any insites.

Visit all your workstations with clipboard and pencil.
Write down all the network configurations, especially
configs that are net bios related. Also note down all the
things that each machine can do and can't do.
Go back and sit down, take the info and draw it up into a
chart.
Can you see a pattern? do the cooperating workstations
share something that the bad workstations do not?
I'm going to assume that you don't have any routers on
your network and all your machines are on the same subnet.
It could be something really simple like machines
belonging to different workgroups........
