Unable to save to network drive

Dear all,

I have this problem that some of my users are unable to
save their words/excel document to the network drive.
Sometime, after trying to save a few time, it works.
Normally i advise them to save to another name or locally
and it works but inconvience. Any guys/gals out there got
a solution?

- Why can't they save?
- What happens when they try?
- Does it affect administrators too?
- Is the problem restricted to Word/Excel files, or does it
happen with other files too (e.g. Notepad files)?
 
We are having the exact same problem. Here is the typical
error users are seeing:

"! The save failed due to out of memory or disk space.
(Z:\OR Stats 2004\OR Stats Jan 2004.doc)"

We do not have disk quotas on, it seems to happen for all
office products(we use Office XP) and happens to genral
users. We in IT have yet to see it, but we do not save to
the network with the frequency of a general user.

We are still seeing this issuer pop up from time to time.
Users have only complained that it is Office files(most
users do not use Notepad for instance). We have since seen
this error in IT with a user who had local admin rights.

Could this be a network load issue? We do have alot more
traffic these days, at times we have our xray dept sending
images and we also have a health information system that is
used site wide, which provides an almost constant 500Kb in
traffic from our main site(which has all the file servers)
and our remote sites. I am thinking that this added to the
xray images being sent through our network could be the
problem.

Ideas?
