unable to save .jpg or .gif files

When I try to save a .gif or .jpg file from the internet
my pc will only allow me to save it as a .bmp. Does
anyone know why this would happen or how to fix the
problem? TIA!

Try clearing out your Temporary Internet Files folder.

You need to clear out your Temporary Internet Files.
Open IE | Tools | Options | General tab | Delete Files button
