Unable to run msconfig

i have been trying to install a new antivirus program to
get rid of a worm/virus on my computer, and am unable to
get the software to run because when i try to run
msconfig nothing happens. Has anyone run into this
problem? thanks, amy
 
You should run the AV software from its CD to find the
virus and then remove it, if, it can be removed by that
(?) AV software. In some cases removing a worm/virus/?
can cause the OS to malfunction and need to be
reinstalled.

Do a free online virus scan of your computer at
http://housecall.trendmicro.com

That will identify the specific virus(es) that you have on your
computer and should remove/clean most of them.

If the online scan is unable to completely remove a specific virus
then post a response back here and include the name of the virus that
could not be removed.
