I'm at wit's end. I'm certainly not a computer whiz, but
I'm not exactly illiterate either.
I have a Dell Dimension 4500. I have Norton Internet
Security 2004 installed, and Adaware 6.0. I used to have
Spybot, but I recently uninstalled it (thought it may have
been causing my problem).
The problem is every time I try to launch Internet
Explorer, I get the "unable to resolve host
www.yahoo.com" message. I have a DSL cable modem , and
it's working perfectly (I am able to dial into my VPN
connections with no problems). The first time I got this
error, I popped in my ISP's setup CD and reinstalled it,
which worked. Of course, the problem came back and now
reinstalling doesn't fix it. I tried typing in different
web addresses and nothing works.
If looked all over for an answer to this and can't find
anything on this.
Any advice on this would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thank you,
Brian
