Hi,
I have a home network with a 3 PCs: one uses W2K Advanced Server, One
uses W2K Pro, and the third uses WXP Pro. The W2K Pro PC is connected
to the internet (via a cable modem) and has a proxy server running on
it. The W2K AS is configured as a PDC for my home network domain
(hilltop.local). I have set the Internet Options for all three to use
the Proxy Server and they can access the internet with no problems.
(I'm using the W2K AS PC to post this thread through Google.)
My problem is that my W2K AS PC and WXP Pro PC can't resolve external
IP addresses. I can't ping, nslookup, tracert anything. However,
internal home domain addresses are fine. Interestingly, I can't run
runescape.com through Sun Java as it doesn't resolve the name.
I figure it has something to do with my DNS server but don't know how
to configure it. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Some URLs describing what I need to do or some instructions would be
great.
Regards,
Rick
