unable to rename/delete folders on desktop

When I try to rename/delete any folder on my desktop I can change it it but
when I click "enter" to confirm the change I get the message - The
instruction at "0x0215415b" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The momery
could not be "written"

Any advice will be great..

Running xo pro with upto date service packs

Check if some software that runs in the background is causing this.

Also scan this computer with Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoft.com) and a
