Well, if you look here, it does not instruct you to check SSL:
http://www.charter.com/Visitors/Support.aspx?SupportArticleID=1417

So, try to go to the Advanced tab in your email account's properties and
uncheck there the use of a secure connection (SSL) for both servers. The
port for the incoming mail server should then automatically revert to 110,
and you should then be able to connect successfully. If not, please post
back here!

What is your exact error message?

Frank,

I am having the same situation. Everything worked fine until yesterday
afternoon.
I switched over from Cable Modem to DSL and everything worked. Upgraded
Windows Updates yesterday.

My error message is as follows:

"The connection to the server has failed. pop.mail.yahoo.com, Server:
smtp.mail.yahoo.com, Protocol:smtp Port: 25, Secure (SSL): NO, Socket
Error:10060,Error number:0x800ccc0e

Please advise,

Check with Yahoo for the correct settings.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident program.
Beside that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail.

My crystal ball is a bit cloudy.
Right-click on the error message, copy, then paste into a
reply here.
