I'm running IE 6 SP2 with Windows XP SP2. The page can not be displayed
and/or I receive a "can not find server" message at the top of the browser.
Is there a fix for this issue? Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

By any chance, are you trying to access these sites from work?

In that case, contact your ISP. Neither Internet Explorer nor Windows will
prevent you from reaching those web sites.

Four things to try:

1. Clear your TIF and History completely:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

2. Check your Cookies folder and delete any cookies that relate to the
sites in question.

3. Check your Hosts file as per this article:
Problems Using Internet Explorer with Incorrect Hosts File
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q219843

More info on the Hosts file:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hostsfaq.htm

4. Got to a Command prompt (Start...Programs...Accessories) and type in:

ipconfig /flushdns

Hit Enter.

Renaming the "hosts" file corrected my problem.
I used the following procedure for Windows XP:

Check for a hosts file (justs "hosts" not hosts.sam or lmhosts) in these
locations:
Windows XP… C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
You may have to enable the viewing of hidden files.

Rename your HOSTS file to OLDHOSTS and see if the problem persists.

THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! I tried all sorts of things before,
and I never new it could be as simple as that to fix!!!! I've read about lots
and lots of people who had this same problem, but none of the solutions they
were given seemed to help me, but this did!!
Thanks again SO SO much!!!!
