Unable to print to network printer

When my DH's Epson C88+ was first installed, I was able to send documents to
print on his machine. After my computer was serviced (read bench tested), I
could no longer print on his machine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it
to no avail. The reverse also happens - his computer cannot send to my
printer.

If I'm trying to print something from the web or an email to his printer,
nothing happens. When I try to send a document from WordPerfect X3, the
print dialogue box says "waiting for printer to initialize" beside the
status indicator.

Help please - anyone????

Thanks

Lorraine

Yes they are Cari.

When I go to My network places and open the Microsoft Windows Network > Wilk
(the name of our network workgroup) and click on Lorraine (my computer's
name) > printers and faxes, it lists the following printers:

Auto EPSON Stylus C88 Series on BARRIE
EPSON Stylus Photo R260 Series (my default printer)
Fax
Microsoft XPS Document Writer
Net2Fax
Quicken PDF Printer

When I click on Barrie > printers and faxes, the only printer shown is:
EPSON Stylus C88 Series on BARRIE

I've tried doing the printer troubleshooting, done a search on the web, and
had no success.

Sure hope this info leads you to a solution.

Thanks,

Lorraine

PS - using XP Pro SP2

Can the Barrie PC see the files and folders on the Lorraine PC? Is File and
Printer Sharing enabled correctly?

Yes, the Barrie PC can see files and folder on Lorraine PC (and access them)
and vice-versa. It can now also see the EPSON Stylus Photo R260 Series (my
default printer).

I'm not sure whether the file and printer sharing is set up correctly or
not. Both computers show all visible printers as ready. When either of us
try to print from OE or IE (to the other computer) we get the following
error message;

An error has occurred on the script on this page.
line: 1829
char: 1
Error: unspecified error
Code: 0
url: res://ieframe.dll/preview.dlg

Do you wish to continue running scripts on this page?

When we try to print from WordPerfect X3, the print dialogue box says
"waiting for printer to initialize" beside the status indicator.

I sure hope this helps you to diagnose my problem, but if not I may have to
shell out some money and get someone to do some remote assistance.

It prints fine to my printer from Notepad, but when I try to send something
to Barrie printer I get the error: "The handle is invalid"

I have all updates and patches installed on WordPerfect. (and Windows)

I don't have icons for IE or OE on my desktop (I use keyboard hotkeys). I
did go into tools in IE and unchecked "Enable third party browser
extensions" but I still get the script error when trying to send something
to Barrie printer from either IE or OE.

| Does it print OK from Wordpad, Notepad etc.
|
| There's an update for Word Perfect on XP at the Corel website.....
|
| You might want to see:
| for the IE/OE error and see if that helps.
