I have been using Internet Explorer on my office p/c for some years now
without problem, until a few weeks ago.
Now, whenever I try to print an internet page, I get an "Internet Explorer
Script Error" box appear.
This box shows that there is an error at line 93, access is denied and the
URL quoted is:-
"res://c:\WINNT\system32\shdoclc.dll/preview.dlg".
I have tried all the fixes from the Microsoft Support Document - Error
Message: I E Script Error - an error has occured, but I just can't seem to
sort out this problem.
I don't know why it suddenly appeared and worse, I don't know how to correct
it, so I just can't print from any internet pages.
PLEASE could someone help me resolve this problem?
Many thanks

Hi Paul :-)

As you don't mention the version of Windows or IE you are using (i.e. SP1,
SP2) I can only take a guess at some suggestions:

res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdoclc.dll/preview.dlg

You may need to update your printer driver. Go to the website for your
printer and download and install the most recent driver for that printer for
your OS.

and...

This error can be caused by adware. Do the following:

Go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab
Uncheck the option for "Enable third-party browser extensions"
Click Apply
Click OK
Close the browser.
Restart the browser and attempt to print

If this resolves your problem, then you have some form of scumware on your
system, so you need to do the following to clean it from your system:

Dear Jan,

HHOOOORAYYY!!

Thank you so VERY much for your advice, which has solved my problem.
I am operating Windows 2000 Pro and IE6.
I followed your advice and discovered I have some spyware on my system.
I downloaded the Microsft AntiSpyware software and this detected 2 spyware
applications. I have removed both, using the software and all is now back to
normal and I can print internet pages with our problem.

I really cannot thank you enough, as this was really beginning to "do my
head in"!
Thanks V V much

Paul :-) :-)
And boy do I have a smile now!

I am getting the same error message after I installed and then uninstalled
Internet Explorer 7 because it did not work with my BT Yahoo software. I
never had this problem before. I can still print but I cannot use print
preview. Can you help?

Hi Andrew,

Have you re-started your computer since un-installing IE7? What happens when
you select the Print Preview, any error messages?

Regards.
