Hi, any help would be appreciated.
i am unable to play or view any CD from the CD/DVD drive. I'm not sure what
the problem is. It's not giving me any error, just does not play or view
anything in the drive. any suggestions??

You didnt say the age of your computer. CD/DVD Drives wear out. Lense gets
dirty, mechanical problems etc. If you have
tried both new CD's and DvD's and retail CD's such as music and nothing
happens then you probably need a new one. If
somebody or you have worked on your computer, opening the case etc, then
I would check the white power connector to
the drive and the ribbon (data cable) to make sure they are seated
properly.

What program are you using to acess the drive? What types of files are you
trying to acess? Are you using the programs built into Windows. Have you
tried using Windows explorer to see if the files are listed. Try that. If
you are trying to access a music CD try different programs such as Sonic, I
tunes, or Windows Media Player. Try all different kinds of files, IE jpegs,
mp3, text. What progam are you using to access the files. If none of
them work it could isolate things to being a problem with the drive and not
the file or a file type or problem with a program. Then I would reccommend
going to the manufactuers website and downloading the most current drivers
and read the FAQS on the manufacturers webpage. They should have some free
support options. Let me know if this helps.
Best regards,
Kaja
