Several of the PCs on the network cannot be pinged after
applying SP2. This is with the firewall on or off.
Otherwise they are working OK. What could be the problem?

.
Also the admin$ share cannot be accessed from the
network. NAV needs this to install client!

Bill,

You may want to configure the ICMP in the Advanced tab of the Windows
Firewall. SP2 default settings does not allow ping.

Thanks, Peter.

How can I turn this back on using Group Policy. Sure don't want to have to
visit each PC and do it!

Cheers,
Bill

OK. Found out how to do it. Downloaded Group Policy Management tool and
installed on XP SP2 PC after installing .Net stuff. I now have all the SP2
extensions to the Administrative Template which include Windows Firewall
policies. This has caused another problem on the Windows 2000 server when I
attempt to edit GP there! See new post.
Thanks to all for your help. Cheers,
Bill
