Unable to Open Zip E-mail

Sorry, do you mean an attachment that has been zipped, or email messages
themselves that have been zipped?
 
The attachment is compressed. I know the sender and the
document was written in Microsoft word. It is a large
file and in order to send it, it was compressed. When I
try to open the file, it is garbled.

Have you got winzip installed?
