Unable to open Yahoo attachments

My girl friend's computer(Compaq XP) will not open ecards
or pictures I send her through Yahoo email. Can anyone
help? Thanks. Ken

If the ecards require the java browser plugin that may be why they are not
working. XP does not include the MS Java Virtual Machine and due to a court
ruling will not be distributing it anymore. You can still find it if you
search around the web but recommend checking out the offering at Sun's
website. A quick route to just their browser plugin is www.java.com

For the pictures, does she have software installed that can view the image
type that is being sent to her? JPG is a safe format. Most people have
software installed that can read these and they are nice and small for
transporting online. If she needs an image viewing program, the freebie
known as "IrfanView" is very good.
 
Tell her to check here
1) Launch Outlook Express
2)Go to Tools->Options->Security Tab
3)Uncheck the box "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened ........"
4) Ok out and close Outlook Express.
5) then run it again and she should be able to open attachments
