Unable to open Windows address book

When I start a new message in Outlook 2000, and click on the "To" button, I
get an error message: "An error occurred while attempting to open the Windows
address book." I get the same message when selecting a name in the Contacts
folder to send a message to.

A few days ago, I had to re-install Norton AntiVirus 2005. I also used the
"Detect and Repair" menu option in Outlook. I now have two .pst files:
Personal Folders(1).pst and Personal Folders(2).pst. The Contacts folder
under Outlook Today - Personal Folders(2) has all my contacts. The one in
Personal Folders is empty.

In my Address Book folder there are three files: Jay McManus.wab,
UserMPS.wab, and UserMPS.wa~

Can you help?

You must provide a more accurate account of your version for anyone to
answer you. Outlook 2000 come in two completely different mail support
modes. Which are you using? If you don't know, look at line 2 of Help |
About.

The version is ... Internet Mail Only

That's bad news.
IMO was abandoned years ago, is not supported and had no provision to repair
a corrupted profile. It also did not use the Outlook Address Book.
How long do you intend to keep using this version? I can probably find some
unsupported reg hacks that might help, but its at your own risk.
