Hi,

I have lost the ability to open any secure web pages with
IE 6 using 128 bit encryption. Windows KB states I need to
delete my exisitng ('corrupted')user profile and create a
new one. Unfortunately, the existing profile is that of
administrator that cannot be deleted. Could anyone tell me
if there is some way to coorect this problem without
reinstalling all my software. Thanks

You can not delete a profile while logged on as that user. Add another user
to the administrators group, log on as that user and then delete the problem
profile. Be sure to back up any files you may want from that profile in my
documents, etc and decrypt and EFS files that may exist first. The problem
may not be the profile. Try accessing a secure site logging on as new user
first before erasing a possibly good profile. See link below also. --- Steve

Steven, you're absolutely right. Unfortunately, I did
already manage to delete the profile, and problem still
exists with the new profile (also with administrator
privileges) Will look into resource you gave. Please let
know if you have any further ideas. Thanks
