I am having a problem with being able to open a new
windown in IE 6...I am able to view web pages when I type
in the url directly, such as www.espn.com but if I were to
click on a link that would open up another browser window,
it never loads. I only get a blank page with an attempt to
loade that runs for eternity. I also cannot right click
and open in new window either. I lent my computer out to a
local minister to use at a childrens camp and this is how
I got it back. I am running windows XP & attempted to use
restore but did not have a restore point back far enough
to fix the problem. I have all reinstalled IE 6 & that did
not fix the problem either....If anyone can help, it would
be greatly appreciated..

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

3. Click OK, and then click OK again when you receive the following message:

DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded.

4. If that doesn't fix it, see this article:

http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers.htm#new_window

You can also try this:

Go to Start/run, and type SFC.
Choose 'Extract One File From Installation Disk'.
Type oleaut32.dll, not worrying about its location. Then, click Start.

Next to 'Restore From', type in or browse for the file's location, which is
probably in the Win98 folder of your installation CD-ROM (typically
D:\Win98), or in your Windows\Options\Cabs folder, as the case may be.

Then, next to 'Save File In', enter C:\Windows\System, and click OK. System
File Checker looks for the file, saves it as you requested, and then tells
you that 'the file has been successfully extracted'.

You may need to reboot.

If you're still having problems with the pop-ups
remaining blank, try this:
1. Quit all programs that are running.
2. Click Start, and then click Run.
3. Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll, and then click OK.
4. When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll
succeeded"
message, click OK.

If this does not resolve the problem, repeat steps 2
through 4 for each of
the following files (in step 3, replace Urlmon.dll with
each of the file
names below):
Shdocvw.dll
Msjava.dll
Actxprxy.dll
Oleaut32.dll
Mshtml.dll
Browseui.dll
Shell32.dll (Windows XP and Windows 2000 only)

Hope this helps,
Debbie
