I recently re"started" my system by formatting and reinstalling the
OS. With outlook 2003, I saved the PST files (archive.pst and
outlook.pst) and opened them with my new setup system in Outlook 2003.
I thought that Outlook 2003 would make a "copy" of the PST files and
place them in the appropriate Documents and Settings folder. However,
it didn't. Instead, whenever I try to open Outlook now, I get the
"unable to open default email folder." followed by it saying that it
can't locate the outlook pst file in the folder from which I first
imported it. That folder no longer exists (it was on an external HD
whose drive letter has now been assigned to my DVD-RW drive). I'm
given no option to open any other files and the program simply shuts
down.
I tried opening Outlook in safe mode to no avail (I get the same error
msg).
Any workarounds for this?
