System:
MS Windows 2000 Pro, SP4
MS Access 2000, SP3
Problem:
I am unable to open any .mdb file exclusively and set/change the database
password. For example, I opened Access, created a new database on my local
drive called "db1.mdb", closed Access, reopened Access, opened "db1.mdb" via
the File menu using "Open Exclusive" option, selected Tools->Security->Set
Database Password..., entered a password, and got the following error message:
"You need to have the database open for exclusive use to set or unset the
database password..."
This started a while ago on databases I wrote and administered for years.
I've avoided doing any security changes because all of my attempts at finding
a solution to this problem have only resulted in wasted time. Please help.
