I have two PCs - one running Windows 2000 Professional and
one running Windows XP Home Edition - I can ping the XP
computer from the 2000 box, but am unable to "net use" -
suggestions?

I have even tried the net use command using the IP address
of the XP box, but no success. I am trying to map to the
default share of "SharedDocs".

I browse network neighbourhood on the 2000 box and the XP
box does not show up, despite that are both part
of "Workgroup".

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Kind regards,

if using net view \\xpcomputername, what do you get? if it is system error
5, this is permission issue and make sure you have created a logon name on
w2k for xp logon.
