XP Pro SP2

I'm trying to make a modification to one of the currentcontrolset members
(enum/usb). Regedit reports that it can't update the key (Error writing
"key").

Other registry items can be modified. I don't suspect corruption, rather I
suspect a security policy of some sort. I've tried safe mode as
administrator, tried without any virus protection, etc. but I still receive
the same error.

Any help appreciated.

Believe it or not, all you have to do is right-click on the key and change
the permissions.

Oh. I'm having a similar problem right now, but I already tried changing the
permissions. My problem is that my permissions modifier won't let me modify
the permissions! It's quite frustrating. And it doesn't seem to matter if
I'm in safe mode as administrator or not. Very perplexing. But I'm glad
your's is working!
