Unable to modify dwt

Sorry for the stupid question...but I am new to Front Page, and am dealing
with changing 700+ webpages - hence the need to create the dwt pages.

My question- just working on my harddrive in the Front Page program I have
created my dwt template and attached it to some of my pages. Then, to test
the dwt capability, I modified the template, saved it, and used the commands
to update all the pages with this template.

FP tells me it is changing the pages (even with the specific #)...but it
doesn't do it. Nothing changes. The modification in the template doesn't
show up.

Any idea what I am talking about or what I am doing wrong? Any help would
be greatly appreciated.

Did you modify an non-editable region in the DWT?

Are you working in a Disc based web (C:\somepath\...)

There is no such thing as a non editable region in a DWT. Anything can be
modified. Text etc in regions marked as non-editable in the DWT carry over
exactly to the pages it is attached to, editable regions do not. But all of
the DWT itself can be edited.

That's the point
Editing content in an Editable region of the DWT Will Not change content in the attached pages
Editing content in a Non-Editable region of the DWT Will change content in the attached pages

Hi Stefan,

It is an editable region...and I'm not sure what a disc based web is? I've
read the other posts that refer to that. I am not even getting into
uploading. I'm just working on my hard drive..... If you could clarify what
a "disk based system" is I could respond.

Thanks so much!

THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! Such a simple concept...yet why didn't I get it? or
why didn't the tech from India get it???

Wish I had known it 170 pages ago <sigh> However, I am a happy camper!

Thanks again :~)
