Unable to Merge contacts

I am using MS Outlook 2003 and MS Word 2002. When I merge my contacts, I get
a message that "to use this feature, you must install the version of
Mircosoft Word that matches the installed version of Microsoft Office
Outlook". Is there any way around this other than installing Microsoft Word
2003?

The workaround would be to export your Outlook contacts to another format --
Access or Excel or .csv.

Thanks Russ...any idea if I can download the upgrade, (and pay for it), from
a MS Website or do I physically have to purchase the MS Word 2003 upgrade CD,
then again, I guess it is always best to have a hard copy of the upgrade.

Thanks for you help...

No.
Versions must match.

There are no versions of Office, upgrade or otherwise, that you can
download.
Do you really have to use Outlook for your merge? Can't you export to
another data source that Word 2002 can use, like Excel or Access?

Yes, that is what I eventually did and it worked fine with a little clean-up.
I just thought there was a more direct route.

Thanks for your time Russ...
