I have access to 2 computers in different locations, both running Windows XP
Professional with simple file sharing turned off. I am suddenly unable to
map drives on either computer via the internet. I have batch files on both
computers with commands such as "net use h: \\123.123.123.123\c
/persistent:NO". They worked fine in both directions until 2 days ago. I
have the same usernames and passwords on both computers. No settings were
changed on either computer. Now I get "The network path was not found" when
I run the batch files on both computers. I can still use NetMeeting to
control the desktop of the remote computer, so I know it is working. .Both
computers have DSL, one an "always on" connection with a static IP address,
the other a PPP connection with a dynamic address. I have a service, which I
wrote, running on the computer with the dynamic address which automatically
logs on when the computer reboots and which emails me the new dynamic
addresss whenever the address changes. I have tried uninstalling and
reinstalling the file sharing service on both computers. Nothing works.
HELP!!!
