Hi,
I'm unable to get AutoAdminLogon to work on Windows 2000.
I've used the values DefaultUserName, DefaultPassword and
DefaultDomainName (both as true domain name and as machine
name) and set AutoAdminLogon to 1 (all REG _SZ). Furthermore
I tried ForceAutoLogon and AutoLogonCount. I also tried
RunLogonScriptSync set to 1 (I read somewhere that Autologon
would be somewhat more stable this way).
I also made sure that AutoAdminLogon was possible by enabling
it in the local security policy (There are no group policies
here, so no overrides are possible).
I tried it with both a domain account as with a local account.
After reading in a KB article that on W2K AujtoAdminLogon only
works for Workgroups I tried that as well, all with the same
result.
After the reboot the system displays a message box (The system could not
log you on...) with all the values (username and password) clearly filled
in in the logon dialog. (BTW the password field always displays the same
of asterisks, irrespective of the number of characters in the password).
I tried it both on WIndows 2000 workstation and server with SP4 applied.
No other applications installed.
A I still missing something?
