Unable to log onto windows

Hi
I have xp home which has worked fine until this morning. Following message
appeard
we apologize for the incovenience,but windows did not start successfully.
It then gives options for booting including safe boot. However none of them
are successful and it is a continual loop of restarting with success. I have
tried recovery console but needs an admin password which I don't know. Have
tried using blank, Administrator, own password.
Can anyone help please?

Ask the Administrator for that computer (i.e the person who does know the
password)
