I am having some trouble logging into a PC that is networked to my own. The
PC that I am trying to log into is running Windows XP Pro SP2 and the PC from
which I'm trying to log into is running Windows Vista Home.
Both PC are using the same subnet mask. I have tried with Remote Desktop
and VPN. I have tried locating the PC on the network and logging on through
Explorer. Nothing has seemed to worked. I have disabled Windows Firewall,
UAC, and IE's Intranet protection.
When trying to log onto the XP PC, I have typed in the user name and
password correctly yet Logon unsuccessful message is returned. After
receiving this message, I notice that I do not obtain the proper PC name for
the PC that I'm trying to log onto. Instead, I receive my PC's name.
If someone could help me with this problem, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
